Geschichten vom Berg
«Geschichten vom Berg» is a digital museum of the commons of the Upper Valais: water, forest and alpine pastures that are still managed collectively by the Geteilschaften and Burgerschaften of the Naters region.
Over a full year, from the communal work on the irrigation channels to the descent from the alp, the project recorded oral histories in Valais dialect, films and photographs. The population was part of the research from the start.
The stories are accessible through an app and website, and on site through more than fifty viewpoints with QR codes between Naters and the Sparrhorn, accompanied by a village walk in Blatten and the exhibition «Frauen und die Alpsaison» at the World Nature Forum Naters (2026).
